I expected it to fix all the issues RO2 had and bring something new, fresh and exciting to the game. I really want RS2 to be a great game and a worthy successor to RO2, but I am still skeptical. The development of this game has been very slow in the last couple of months, which is really worrying. Then you have the not so good performance.

It's slower (but not necessarily more tactical due to the poor TE map design), it has a very low number of maps (3 SK, 2 SU and 3 full scale TE), many of the design decisions are questionable (like how the squad system works even though the general idea was great, the sight misalignment when changing stances, the weapon balance etc.), the list of bugs, glitches and exploits is massive even though many of those issues have been around since RO2 Beta. I have spent almost 2k hours in RO2 but I don't enjoy RS2 even though I was really excited for it. Also you will have always have a reason to bitch about how your basic training was so much fucking harder than the other guys basic even though in reality most of your time was spent standing around or cleaning shit.
Dude may seem like an asshole (most aren't, it's just their job) but he will provide you with enough creative insults for the rest of your life. Also you will never forget the name of your drill instructor / sergeant, depending on your branch. Within a couple weeks you will get to like these dumbfucks more than your friends from back in first grade. The reason why all of that shit is worth it are the people you will meet there.
#RED ORCHESTRA VIETNAM RELEASE TIME SIMULATOR#
Shooting stuff in a simulator is fun though because you won't have to spend the next couple hours rubbing your fucking barrel while pretending to actually do shit. Getting yelled by multiple bald angry men at the same time is a lot less fun than what it may have looked like on television. Sore muscles all day long, just walking to just brush your teeth in the morning will hurt. You will be constantly tired to the point of being able to fall asleep while standing. Also you will become one of those retards here and there when your brain stops working thanks to a lack of sleep and you won't be able to repeat half a fucking sentence you heard ten times only a minute ago. Mostly because you're working with retards. I guess having typed all this out it boils down to the fact that so much changed in RS2 that I wasn't willing to invest the time to get to know the game as well as RO2, and most of the changes didn't seem on first look to be better or an objective improvement in the way RO2 was over RO1.Hard to wrap it up in a couple sentences but I will give you some random thoughts.įrom the first to last minute you will be treated like a retard. Once it became a fight between RS2 and Overwatch the winner became clear and I just abandoned the franchise as a whole because going back to RO2 left me fighting to join the single full-pop server which remained. Ultimately it was a fight for my play-time (as I work full time) between RO2 and Overwatch. I'll be honest my expectations were pretty much a reskin of RO2 with some minor improvements and it's more of an evolution. the movement felt more clunky and not as fluid.Īnd overall I much prefer WW2 to Vietnam. In addition I disliked the weapons, I disliked the maps. There was no similar roles in RS2 with as much power and influence over the fight. I loved playing as an experienced TL or SL1. I don't think that pretty much everyone spawning on SL1 was great, but they took it too far the other way. RS2 changed so much, namely the squad mechanics.
